We believe that if we are to have a service organization in the truest sense of the word, we must be continually involving ourselves in projects that benefit the community and its citizens, especially the youth. Our current projects include:
Stars of Tomorrow
Stars of Tomorrow is a local, K-12 talent show produced yearly at the Fort Collins’ Lincoln Center. The purpose of this event is to provide amateurs with the opportunity to express themselves before the community and thereby aid in the development of their performance abilities. Prizes are awarded to the top three winners.
Youth Achiever Award
On select Tuesdays, we hear from some of our city’s most promising high school students. The “best-of-the-best” are recognized. Stay tuned for this year’s youth achiever!
Fossil Ridge High School ‘Key Club’
The Key Club is the oldest and largest service organization within the high school setting, focusing on leadership and giving back to the community. Specific programs offered by the Key Club include leadership opportunities, scholarships, service learning, and personal development. Key Club volunteers reach out to kids in the community and run charitable events. Each year the Key Club partners with a non-profit organization to bring awareness and support for their cause. The Fort Collins Kiwanis Club sponsors the Fossil Ridge Club.
Adopt-A-Street is a volunteer based program that has been cleaning up city streets and road shoulders in Fort Collins since 1987. Adopt-A-Street strives to increase community pride through public awareness of litter control. The result is a positive difference in the overall appearance of Fort Collins. Several times a year, our members volunteer to spend time improving various Fort Collins area streets by cleaning up debris.
